Hello - first time posting.

Question regarding my black EZ-Flash VI
Before my problem I had: H[805] F[103] K3.0 ob6

When I put ob7 in the root it hangs with no error on the boot screen. Please see the attached picture. I've tried reformatting, re-downloading files and extracting to the microsd. I've also tried going back to ob6 and prior kernels. No matter what I do at this point it will not go passed the initial EZ Flash boot screen. I've updated a number times over the years and never had this problem and I've now caused this same issue in two of my cards. After a couple days of searching forums...I'm stuck.

In my root I have the EZ5shell, ez5isys.bin and a game.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Full format ? it takes a couple of minutes to finish.

Ok, then which microsd reader do you use ?

Yeah, just like your wiki instructs. Usually takes like 5 minutes. Attaching a snap shot. I use the reader the ez-flash vi came with, but I also tried a different one as well.

I have a 4gb and 8 gb. All of them have been functioning normally for years and have updated multiple times. I've run into corrupted data once or twice, but a reformat always fixed the problem. Also tried formatting, re-downloading and transferring with two different computers with no luck. I borrowed a 3rd ez flash card and had the same outcome once I put on ob7.

I know, I'm beginning to wonder myself??? I initially got the link off gbatemp and then directly from ezflash cn downloads when I ran into the problem on the first card.

Really i have no idea on why this is happening. You use which software to decompress the rar file ?

Thanks I appreciate your time.

I've always used 7-zip.

I use 7zip too.

What a strange story ...

Well, if i was you i will try the unbricker 2.0 and run it from another flashcart to try to update your ez5i into firmware v108.
Maybe this could fix your problem.
If you choose to follow this advice, read carefully the readme.txt that comes with the unbricker 2.0.
There is 2 steps in this update.

I am going to get my hands on another flash card tomorrow night and will try the unbricker 2.0, but doesn't it have to use ob7? The other cart is still on ob6 as well.

I'll try to update it to firmware v108 first and then once confirmed working, i'll transfer over ob7.

Indeed, the firmware v108 updater will ask you to update in k3.0ob7, so you are in a loop now.
The only way to update your ez5i now is to find a different host flashcart and the unbricker 2.0 : viewtopic.php?p=74383#p74383
