Hello,

I just got a EZFlash Vi for my DSL and I'm trying to get it set up. I downloaded 3.0 OB 6 kernel and the "Version 103 (3DS Fix) for both (705) & (805) hardware revision" firmware and unpacked both to the root of the microSD. I also put a pokemon white.nds file on the root. But whenever I go to load up the cart, I get an error saying "system kernel not found. Please visit www.ezflash.cn to download the newest kernel and extract the kernel to microsd".

Any suggestions?

PS: The card is a kingston 2gb SD-C02G

Download the v101 also and unzip it on the microsd : http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=12017

You have to update first in v101 and after in v103. Once done, delete the two firmware .nds files.

But I can't even get to the part where I run the .nds file. I never see the directory, it just crashes. Or will having the 101 firmware nds in there fix that?

Have you ever tried what i told you ?
Believe me, i know pretty well the ez5i flashcart.

I tried what you said, but it still crashed before I get to the GUI kernel. I can't get to the point where I choose to run a firmware.nds file.

EDIT: Also, it's a DSL not a DSi, do I even need the firmware?

what do you mean by "crashed" ?
The error screen system kernel not found ?
If you used the filetrip file that i told you, you shouldn't have this error.

Be sure to have the EZ5shell folder in your microsd root along with the firmware files and the ez5sys.bin + ez5isys.bin.

I tried the above steps on a new card. I was able to load up the system and updated the 1.01. After rebooting the DS after the update (it said the update was successful) I get a black screen. Any ideas?

I figured out my problem. I did not have the ez5isys.bin in the root. Only ez5sys.bin. After adding the other file, it works great! Thanks!

Now you can upgrade to firmware v104 + kernel 3.0ob6.

Note that once the ez5i firmware is updated, the nds file can be deleted (ez5firmwreUP_VXXX.NDS)
