OK I just bought an EZ Flash IV mini. I haven't got it yet but I have been trying to get everything ready for a quick start when it arrives and I can't find any good setup instructions. I want to use it with my GBA Sp and if possible my NDS to, but if not for both then just the Sp. Somebody please help a dude new to the game, PLEASE!!!

First get a miniSD and use that- those micro to mini adapters are terrible and the cause of most of the problems we see these days.

General good stuff to know
If you want to use it for DS games and code (do not most games released in the last 2 years (April 2009 was the last update) will probably not work) you will need a nopass or a flashed DS- some older DS slot cards have such functionality but many have since dropped or broken it, you can run flashme from one of them so if you can borrow one for half an hour or so......
Using it to play GBA games on a DS takes nothing extra- just plug it in an run it like a normal GBA game.

Other than that EZClient- http://filetrip.net/f4753-EZ4-Client-2009-04-03.html has what you need to patch GBA games (and DS games for that matter). GBATA is worth having around as well http://www.no-intro.org/tools.htm
You might need to update the loader- the link above comes with a file called ezfla_up.bin- add this this to the miniSD and hold R when booting- on screen instructions from now on. After it has updated you can delete the file, you will however need said file if you plan to use a new skin.

Pretty much all GBA games should work with EZ4client alone, the only ones you will really have trouble with are some of the dragon ball z titles, nes classics/famicom mini (just use an emulator), games like warioware twisted (motion sensor) and boktai (solar sensor) and some of the pokemon games which have RTC. Head on down to http://www.pocketheaven.com/ph/bubbz/?s ... tion=patch and grab patches.
If you have saving issues and it is not one of the games I just listed then try GBATA SRAM patch.

Finally homebrew- it seems to vary. Personally I would send it over via EZ4client like you would any other rom. Some homebrew comes without a proper header GBATA has a good header fixing option so try that first but http://www.gameboy-advance.net/rom_tool ... oolkit.htm has a nice header build tool.

One line steps.
Download http://filetrip.net/f4753-EZ4-Client-2009-04-03.html and extract it (some antivirus programs have been having issues with WGET- it is a false positive but if you want to delete it you can as it is only use for the external DS rom list update tool).
General idea for EZClient is run it- you will probably be asked for set a language first time in.
In the options/config section you can point it at your miniSD "drive".
Open the rom (it can be left as a zip or a rar file if you so desire)
Here you can select a directory (do note the EZ4 loader can only parse 80 files per folder- simple use another folder when you run out) but that is optional.
Press send and watch the percentage bar go up.

If you have it pointed at your hard drive (or something other than your miniSD) make sure to copy the saves over as well (they will be in a folder called saver, probably on the root of the drive- for drive C:\ that would be c:\saver even if you pointed the patcher at your desktop.
