Follow this guide step-by-step to gain a good understanding of how the EZ-Vi works and you'll be up and running in no time. EZFlash Vi quickstart guide wiki/index.php?title=EZFlash_Vi_quickstart_guide
I wish I can work on EZV now. Ordered one from Dealextreme and received a used, non-working EZV. Returned it as instructed, but never received a replacement or refund. I should have searched the net to know Dealextreme is a scam. Which vendor in US is reliable for EZV ?

Yikes! I've had great service from DealExtreme myself...when two items were mistakenly not packaged, they shipped me new ones no questions asked with expedited shipping- and these were $3 items!
I've had great experience with realhotstuff.com, NJ based, quick shipping via DHL, 5% off with coupon SAVE08.
The SD Card formatting program recommended in the Quickstart Guide has screwed up my 2 Gig card!
Quote:
Quick summary:
"Generally, SD/SDHC Memory Card file systems formatted with generic operating system formatting software do not comply with the SD Memory Card specification. If you have formatted the card using the PC's standard formatting program, make sure to reformat using SD format to take full advantage of maximum SD Memory Card performance"
Q: What happens when I format an SD Memory Card with a standard PC formatting program?
A: The SD host equipment may not be able to recognize the SD Memory Card. Writing data to the card may take longer than necessary and some functions may no longer work.
So I downloaded the program, ran it and now my 2 Gig card is only being recognized as 1 Gig! Not only that but once I ran the program I had to reformat my card in XP anyway because Windows said that it wasn't formatted at all!
Can anyone help me with this? I've been searching for a solution but I can't seem to find anything. I've run across a few programs that are supposed to "reset" an SD card back to its original size but none of them have worked for me. I'm getting desperate here.
I got it from DX. Here's what the card actually says on it, I've no idea how to tell if it's real or not:
Kingston (R) 2GB MicroSD (Pb) 0751R31260V SDC-02G JAPAN Along the side edge --> SDC/02G
I found a program that was able to reset it to 2 Gigs in Windows but when I try to write any more than 1 gig of data to it I get:
Cannot copy (Name-Of-Game): The parameter is incorrect.
I've bought from DX a number of times before and haven't had a problem with them until now. Not only am I having issues with the Micro SD card that they sent me but the card reader that I bought specifically for it didn't work either. I had to wait until I could get another one before I could even test it out and see if anything else was faulty. The thing is, I bought another Micro SD card from them a while ago (stolen, which is why I had to buy another one) and it came in the exact same packaging as this one. Granted it was a 1 Gig card but still...
I just hope I don't have to ship stuff back in order to get a replacement.
***UPDATE!***
So it turns out that the ENTIRE problem was being caused by my card reader. I had borrowed my sister's reader until I could get to the store and buy one for myself. Well, I went down to Wal*Mart and picked up a cheap one and lo and behold, it works fine now. 2 gigs and file transfers are much, much faster.
Ugh... There are just too many variables in regards to what can go wrong. Just one little mistake anywhere along the entire chain and everything falls apart.

Somehow, I took some screen caps of the EZ Flash Vi menu, but I don't know how I did it. Can anyone help?
you can do a screenshot from the kernel if you hold down the select button for a couple of seconds. The kernel will write some bmp files on the microsd.

I hope this is the right place for my question. To upgrade the firmware for Ez-Flash Vi should I have necessarily a Ds/Dsi? I just have a 3ds. If i bought now the flashcard will I be able to use it in my 3ds?
