The original discussion/specifications thread is located here:
http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3414
Please reply to this thread though for matters concerning the save list.

Quick summary, save list is the term used for the databased of save types for roms used by earlier versions of the EZ5 kernel. Modern versions work a different way and so the save list is no longer updated by the EZTeam, you (the end user) can use this tool however.
Note only the original EZ5 and the new years edition support save lists; if your cart supports SDHC then you can not use this.

The last savelist using kernel is 1.70, you can get it here:
http://www.ezflash.cn/zip/ez5kernel080202.zip
GBAtemp also has a mirror:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=1773
Note the bootstrap update needs to be done if you have not already done it.

XML2ezsave v1.11 by cracker

This tool automatically converts an XML file with DS game information into an EZV ezsave.lst.

Usage:

Run the batch file that comes in the package

or

Place dsgames.xml (the DS games XML database) into the same folder and run xml2ezsave

Get it here

No problem. Didn't know anyone really used hybrid anymore since most people have gotten Kingston Japans/Dane Elecs/other rebadged microSDs.

Bug report !

Houston we have a problem.

Take the example of Electroplankton :
We have
Code:
ELE PLANKTON,TIJ-,none,false,

instead of
Code:
ELE PLANKTON,ATIJ,none,FALSE,

I think it's simple to correct that. ;)

Thanks for the bug report. Not sure how I missed that. Yes it was a quick fix. Literally took me about 10 seconds to fix. :) The fixed version is up now.

Good and Quick job cracker ! 8)

But what about the "Rumble support" field ? It seems you don't manage it with your exe.
Is it usefull or not for the EZ5 ? (personnaly i've got an EZ4 so i can't test ;) )

I have not seen any information in the xml file concerning rumble and i don't think advanscene website refer that kind of data in their database.
BTW it's perhaps possible to add data that was in mosqto ezsave.lst ?
Or perhaps cracker could add a ini file that xml2ezsave.exe check at the end of the convert process, where we can put our rumble data and it add them if this file is present ?

Here is the csv file containing only games with rumble feature that was in mosqto's save list. ;)

Thanks for the filtered list Mbmax. It was trivial to add support for rumble games. The new bin is up. :)

Very good ! Now, your tool has all we need to update our ezsave.lst.

Thanks again. ;)

Ps : perhaps you might add to the readme something like that :
Edit the rumble.txt file to add games that supports this feature (internal name). :)

internal name is a great idea so all region game are inserted in one time. 8)

I'm not sure but i think there's a little bug. :P
Some games are tagged TRUE and they are not in rumble.txt file :?:
Code:
PINBALL,A3RP,eeprom_512kb,true,
WWE,AW8K,eeprom_4kb,true,

Also PUYOPUYO15,APUJ,eeprom_512kb,true, is 2 time in the ezsave.lst.
For this, it's perhaps a mistake from advanscene xml. ;)

Edit 2 : Ok i understand why. Release 766 is v1.0 and 866 v1.1 of Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary. Both have the same serial that's why they are twice in ezsave.lst. I think i can find others like that. As far as i know, animal crossing has been released in two version.
BTW i don't think it's a problem to have both same entry in ezsave.lst.
I will test that today if i have time. ;)

Fixed the problem with games that had substring names being falsely detected as having rumble.

Yeah there won't be any problem with duplicate names in the list.

Thanks. But are you sure you have updated your exe file because i have just tested and WWE is always tagged true ?!
Also PUYOPUYO15 is always twice in ezsave.lst ?_?
In the readme.txt i can see v1.11.

Edit : I think i understand why WWE is tagged true. You first use the internal name provided in rumble.txt (in this case WWESMACKDOWN) and than check the duplicate region field (duplicateId). That's why internal name WWE is tagged even if it isn't in rumble.txt. No ?

If it's not that, then the bug is not completely fixed. ;)

Yes, it seems that you have to "cleanup" the list provided by the XML file of the duplicate couples [Internal Rom Name / Cutted Serial] like PUYOPUYO15, DOUBUTU MORI or FORT BOYARD (for frenchies! ). I noticed that when I modified my Java program to generate also the ezsave.lst.

I also notice a "funny" thing : BANDBROS DX (Band Brothers Dx) has a "tipo" on Advanscence Database with a Save type of Flash 64Mbits! The parser sets to Eeprom_4kb (0x00) but I think it should be TBC (0xFE) or none (0xFF). What do you think about that ?

This game uses a 8 Mo (64Mbits) Flash save to store songs and i think it will never work in clean mode because the ST Flash memory component is a 4Mbits size. ;)
