To get this to work on a EZV you need to load another game for example Children of Mana then shut if off and connect ur microsd to ur pc then use pokesav on ur pokemon save file. Then go ahead and put ur microsd back into ur cart and play pokemon.

edit it directly on your card that works for me.
i tried and that doesn't work. i think the problem some people are having is when the ezV does that back up to sd thing on startup. that has to be screwing it up cause basically everyone ive seen with a r4 or supercard or whatever has no problems.
On your EZV, start another game and then turn it off and on again. Now, when EZV starts up it will write the game save for "ZOMG DOGZ" instead. Throw your new, hackzored .sav file onto it and then boot up the game you really wanna play ("ZOMG POKEMONZ"?).
Edit: Or update to the latest kernel that was released this morning (last night?) which brings back the "hold down this button to not copy save at boot".
