I have the ez flash lite deluxe, with the lame Star Wars GBA loader skin that it comes pre-skinned with.

I'd like to use the DS skin for both the GBA loader and DS loader. I went to the EZSkinner sticky board and followed the directions and downloaded EZSkinner, but...I just am lost with how to do it even with the board instructions.

can anyone give me a better step by step. EZskinning for dummies.

Heres what I did:

Downloaded EZSkinner and the DS skin.

Put the EF4 Kernel (ezfla_up.bin) in the EZSkinner folder

Opened the Skinner program and skined it.

The skins images show up in the folder, but when i load it to the card, nothing changes (even when I reset it but holding R).

What did I do wrong?

That's the right procedure for skinning the loader. What I think might have happened is you skinned the EZ3 GBA loader instead. Try again and make sure an ezfla_up.bak is created (this will be the original loader renamed) and then you know it was the right loader that was skinned.

When you select the skin folder or zip does it show the preview of the skin?

Donno if im misunderstanding you but clear this up for us real fast.

Are you even updating your ez4 with the skinned loader? you should use the .bin kernel you origanly put into the skin folder after you click skinnit it should edit the skins on that kernel. I have to to boot my ez4 into gba mode and hold R for it to update. but works fine here just used crackers new version of the skinner and it works great!

another part of your post conserns me, your said you wanna use your ds skin for both gba and ds. you will find t hat the skin files for both are differnt so if you just put your ds skin in the gba folder dont expect it to work. you would need to edit the skins in the gba folder. since they are named differnt and work differnt.

dont know if any of this helps but GL! its nice to get rid of the starwars skin, my personal fav is the Minish cap skin thats what i use! ;) it comes with my new skin to if you use the loader i provided.
