Hey, I wasnt too sure where to post this. Roms and Games looked good but there wasnt much traffic in there so I my guess is it would go unnoticed. anyway here is the question.
What is wrong with Godzilla Domination Rom? It loads just fine to the start screen but thats it. All of the buttons on the GBA control pad seem to be diabled. It plays fine on the visualboy emulator.
This game was one of the main reasons behind my buying a EZ III
Sounds very silly, but would a GBA Emulator run in EZ Manager? Probally not but if anyone has ever tried this let me know. Is there some kind of cheat or update i need possibly to play this rom?

There are 3 versions of that game available.

0714 - Godzilla - Domination! (EU) Eurasia.zip
0841 - Godzilla Domination (U)(Dumper).zip
1350 - Godzilla Domination (J)(Independent).zip

Which one are you having issues with and I'll test them out. Also ensure you're not changing anything when copying the roms across. We had one user changing the save type previously and it was causing hassles.

On the bad side, some roms just don't work without patching...

Hmm I just verified that the European and US version have the same effect for me. Tried it with different options and both the 256Mbit area and EZDisk. I also tried a patched version using ultimate patcher but got the same problem. I played it before on my other cart so either one of two things is going on here:
The game uses protection that writes to the 'ROM' and then reads it back to see if it did change (meaning it is a flash cart) and my Visoly cart protected against it.

EZManager or the flash cart screw it up somehow.

I would go with guess 2 since I don't think there was protection built into the Visoly cart to protect against writing to RAM like that (would defeat flashing from an mb cable which it can do, etc).

Unfortunately this might not get resolved since it is probably very low on the priority list. But this is one of only a handful of games that won't run/run correctly out of over 2000 (~800 US) so I'm not complaining...

Thanks cracker, I've been busy testing the DS roms I have for compatability (I'm never sure of the correct spelling of that word).

It takes a while to go through them. Atleast copying via Windows Explorer allows multirom copy. Sure the EZTeam claim lower compatability (there it is again), but since quite a few of the games run, then I'm happy to retest the odd one or two.

Sorry if this gets posted twice, somethings pretty screwy here. I was just saying thanks for the help. The Rom was for my 7yr old who is a Godzilla/ King Kong fanatic.

Hey I got it working right. I used these settings when flashing:

Saver Type: UNKNOW
Saver Size: 0K bits
Saver Patch: ²»Ê¹ÓÃ

Compression does not matter.

Nope, but it didn't before. Doesn't have a save. ;)

Very strange that the patching system would cause the buttons to not respond...

Actually it's <zero>K bits -- the uppermost item in the listbox.

841 - US version. I'm sure they all work the same since they all had the same button problem though.

Sav files should:

a/ Auto copy across when you copy the game, if you have a save file in the EZmanager/saver directory
b/ Auto copy to mem from the EZIII cart when you start that particular game.

Lets make up an example :

Godzilla Domination. It's internal name is : GODZDOM.

If you'd previously copied the game to your EZIII and played it, a sav file is created. In EZManager you previously clicked 'Backup Saver Folder' and that worked fine.

Sometime down the track you copy Godzilla Domination to your EZIII again. EZManager auto copies godzdom.sav to the saver directory on the cart as well.

When you run godzdom.gba in EZPDA the cart then loads the godzdom.sav file to ram just like the real cart should.

You've probably read where you can use button combos with saves. Thats ONLY useful if you want multiple save files for each game. You can have a total of 100 (or is it 101?) saves for each game. Thats not save slots inside the game, thats save files in EZManager.

And Merry Christmas to you too. Have a great holiday time.

I'm still looking for a way to make Godzilla Domination work. I tried what cracker said, but no luck. Also tried two patches, neither worked. So, is there any new info? Does it matter which ezmanger version I use?

I made a patch that auto-passes the intro screen and hopefully the other screens don't get stuck from the patching issue. Apply the patch to the clean dump. I didn't have time to test it on the EZ4 so please report back what happens.
