I got it working !!

You can now play GBA games upto 64Mb (Megabits I would presume) on the Compact. All I had to do was rename the patched game from .gba to .bin and wait the few seconds for the game to load.

I only tested the new Teen Titans 2: The Brotherhood's Revenge game. Which is just over 7 Megabytes.

That's great news !

So the new loader is only necessary for the compact version?

lol why release a deluxe and a compact if they were going to slowly implement gba compatability into the compact version...waste of an update...i havent changed my loader/software for a few updates now...come on ez team and actually release something worthwhile..

Other teams region-lock and mangle their carts. Ez-team strips GBA hardware from the EZ4 to make a brilliant DS product priced at 25$, and they still manage to squeze GBA functionality from it... I wouldn't complain.

@teH XeRO,

Stop being so darned negative. Just because this update doesn't run the latest pirated game (here's a thought, go buy it), doesn't mean it's a waste of an update.

This is definitely one of those "Rabbit out of a hat" tricks. They've taken a product that originally was only for DS games and managed to squeeze in some GBA compatibility. That, to me, is a worthy update.

so does the GBA link function work as well? i see that coming in the near future!! GO EZ-TEAM!!

EDIT: GBA games work fine for me tried 64Mb and 32Mb. Did not try link function, though, and I changed the skin from the EZ3 skin (you weren't the only one meangreenie)

Rather than moaning about it why dont you actually release something worthwhile...
It's funny how ppl like to complain yet they're not willing to do anything to fix the problem.

That's a nice touch. This makes the EZ4-Compact very appealing when compared to the SC-Rumble and M3-Lite Pro.

Definitely in the best-bang-for-your-buck category.

sorry we arent all coders...last i checked im allowed to put in my 2 cents whenever i want, thats what forums are for. i also never said i wasnt happy with my ez4, otherwise i wouldve never bought one to begin with. wasn't moaning more than i was expressing an opinion on a release that is essentially pointless for deluxe owners. think before u speak next time you decide criticize.

i also never mentioned that any games i play/want to play dont work with my ez4 and never once have i ever complained in this forum about the ezteam not letting me steal games as fast as i want. all the games i play actually do work on the ez4, so dont be so quick to jump to conclusions..i was only expressing an opinion...only stating that its been still since the release of the ez4 that there are still many quirks ppl are waiting to see ironed out and i would logically think those should get done before adding any other bells and whistles....jeez.

hypothetically, what would happen if i tried loading a 128Mb gba rom off the compact? any risk of bricking like those moonshell incidents?

It should tell you the "PSRAM not enough" or something similar, though don't hold me to it.

then the psram would be limited to 8MB, and this would be the only gba compatability possible unless you can either trim bigger roms a lot (remove sound, movies etc) or add the possibility of zipped gba roms, both of which i dont see happening any time soon.

The EZTeam used the wrong images in the loader. It's not a big deal, just create your own loader with a new skin.
