Hello everyone! I have been using GBAfront for a few years now and it worked well and was reasonablly easy to update the dat file periodically. Recently, I tried out Gamefront so that I could catalog both GBA and NDS roms. However, I had difficulty using it. I couldn't get the column widths and chosen/filtered column type(country, filename, rom size, etc) to save properly. When I would shutdown Gamefront and open up the same saved database again, the formatting would reset and I'd have to adjust everything again...PAIN IN THE ASS!

I'm sure others have used these frontends. Does anyone have difficulties such as these?

Can anyone suggest good frontends to use? I basically am not looking to use it to load games up in an emulator.
I use it to look at screenshots and boxart to help decide whether I want to load that game onto my EZF3! Thanks!

Offline list:

and advanscenes dats for DS (hit the dats button):
http://www.advanscene.com/

I use the Offline list official GBA dat but for other systems no intro works great:

This is my rom manager of choice, 7zip support, frequent updates and a GUI that works well the reason.

Does offline list allow you to view snapshots of the games and boxart/titlescreen like GBAfront?

You tell us...
The best feature of this is, it scans your roms, tells you if they are the "good/clean" ones, and you can right click on the name to extract it to where you like (no searching through dirs to find the 7zip file)

Awesome! Looks good. I downloaded Offline 0.7f awhile back but never actually installed it because GBAfront seemed easy enough. I'll definately give Offline a go...

I'm really impressed with the 2.20 manager update for the EZ3...so many more roms actually work now! Bravo to the EZ-Team!!

Another dumb question: how do you tell Offlinelist where your roms are? I can't seem to find a browse button to choose the directory where my roms are at. I also can't get the "ROMs" menu to light up nor can I load up any in the emulator. I think this is all because I can't tell it where my roms are.

Please help this retard...

assuming the english language version
tools -> options -> renamer -> check use renamer and set roms folder under verified roms. To change how you want your roms renamed go to rom naming and insert your name mask of choice (I like %u - %n %o).
Repeat for all the systems you want to use.

As for the emulator go under the general tab there is an emulator path where I assume you can pick your emulator. I use 7zip to stores and VBAlink for emulation so I have to check un-archive rom for emulator. I do however also use kode54's build as it has a nice bunch of options including but not limited to 7zip support and SSE2 optimisations, grab it here: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... &start=145

Another point about 7zip compression is EZstuff does not support it (yet, I intend to do some pestering) so make sure to activate the rom selector under plugins so you can right click choose add to selector a few times hit plugins pulldown selector and then extract.

WOW! Offline list is amazing! Thanks for recommending it! :D

It downloaded boxart and snapshots for other romsets, including SNES, NES, Mastersystem, Genesis, GB...crazy! I'll have to do some searching and see if it does MAME too...

I've not seen a MAME dat for OLL, however it wouldn't surprise me if someone has done one.

I'm a firm believer of OLL as well. It's been my choice of rom managers for DS/GBA ever since the dats for clrMAMEpro were stopped.
