EZClient
Current Version: 3.26

3.26(Mirror)
3.26 7Zip(Mirror)
(Mirror 2)

Information:
* NDS Compatibility updated to the latest games.
* Bottom screen is turned off when playing GBA games in DS mode.
* Updated Goldfinger data to the latest GBA games.

In order to use your EZFlash I/II with an EZPass 2 you will need to :

1. Format or remove all roms from your cart
2. Select NDS loader and Passme2 compatible (from the menu)
3. A file browser window will popup requesting a sav(e) file.
4. Chooe the correct sav(e) file corresponding to the NDS cart you're using in the Passme2

This will write the sav file in the beginning of the SRAM on your cart and will reduce the amount of SRAM availble to 1792kb, meaning you will not be able to play games requiring a 2Mbit save, unless you modify your DS (I do not have the details on this).

This means the following carts will not be able to play games that have 2Mbit saves on EZPass2:
EZ1 128/256
EZ2 128/256
EZ3

EZ carts with 4Mb/8Mb SRAM saver are not restricted. Again at this stage I do not know which ones these are.

Older Versions:

3.25
3.25 7Zip
3.24
3.24 7Zip
3.23
3.23 7Zip
3.22
3.22 7Zip
3.21
3.21 7Zip
3.20
3.20 7Zip
3.191
3.19
3.18
3.17
3.12
3.11

For people having issues with V3.17, please download and reinstall V3.12, it should fix most of your problems.

I have windows 2k3.

I'm having trouble installing the driver. I installed the Client Program and its working okay, but it says in the bottom of the screen driver not installed. I am trying to use the Linker Cable that came with my EZ-Flash 256Mbit Card. Should I be using a new Linker cable?

I goto the driver section and I follow the pdf example of how to install it perfectly, except it says an error and says "No information about your hardware detected". Even when I specify the exact file and tell it to just install it anyway. I'm wondering if my OS has anything to do with my problems.

Thanks for your help!

I got the right stuff aka "the linker cart and cable" and it is installed to the best of my knowledge properly, however it will not detect any roms placed in the cart reader. Not my EZ-Flash II 512mbit cart nor any regular GBA game either. Whats wrong?

I'm having the same problem in the flasher. Sometimes it shows correct cart info such as what games are on there or avialable free space and sometimes it doesn't. Also when you put the cart in your GBA it gives this error "No Game Found!... I'm Really Sorry For That"

EZClient v3.18
This is not the DS commercial rom support version but a new version for those who got their EZcarts during or after october 2005.

EZ Client 3.191 has been released.
http://anonym.to/?http://members.lycos. ... zc3191.rar
the http://anonym.to/? just prevents redirection.
This is still not the NDS commercial rom version (a very early beta has been released/leaked from japan but you are probably better off going with ndspatcher or the new wrg patcher).
Otherwise this is a version with all the old and new linker drivers integrated into one:
Quote:
Integrated all EZ-Writer driver into one, The new EZ-Writer3 user must use the EZ_MODE.exe in the installation folder to change the work mode.

Basically if you are doing good with 3.11 or later you should stick with that.

Also if it is wanted Raeca (one of the chinese forums moderators and source of 99% of EZflash news posted by me) has an EZcart support pack (new xcode, emulator updates, cheat updates etc) if it is wanted I will post it in the future.

Only a month later than expected but EZClient 3.20 has been officially released so now you all have NDS commercial support
EZ3 users and roms above 512mbit (there are none as far as I know but it is possible) are the next step.
EZclient 3.20:

http://anonym.to/?http://members.lycos. ... ezc320.rar

The http://anonym.to/? part just prevents redirection

According to Raeca's blog: http://www.tobitai.net/ (Raeca is a moderator on the EZflash.cn chinese forums and source of most of the news regarding ezflash I post)
99% of titiles are supported
savegames should be able to use the sms feature of ezcarts
mixed gba and nds support is available
it supports flashme
but is recommended to be used with ezpass (you may also want to hold off on flashme for a while as some online games are rumoured to mess up the firmware of a flashmed nds)

Now important things that will be required to use this
You will have to enable the NDS loader under the system config tab in ezclient
Image
You are able to enable sms under the system config tab. Remember to format the sms section under the sms section in the Save filesystem setting menu (you can also use this to back up your NDS saves to your pc)

To use sms on the DS side press l and b while on the ds loader and press a a few times to save your game to it (as far as I can see it is exactly the same as sms for the GBA).
Press L for a help screen while on the DS

I have not tested this out yet but I will be the end of next week if I get an ezpass.

I encountered a problem for installing the drive wth XP SP2.
Solution found :
Add the following line to the ezwrite.inf (version Section)
ClassGUID={36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}
Does someone know why ?

Good find. The GUID is a number given to reference the device throughout the registry. So without it there is no 'name' given to the device.

having problems with win2k3, this is how i figured out to make them work

To install in WINDOWS 2003

first copy the drivers to the folder \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS

then open the EZWRITER.INF and find the lines containing StartType = 2
change them to StartType =1

go to DEVICE MANAGER find the USB device and install the driver

In a couple of days Im going to have my MagicKey and Im just getting everything ready for it but I just read this procedure and now Im a little bit confused:

1. Format or remove all roms from your cart
2. Select NDS loader and Passme2 compatible (from the menu)
3. A file browser window will popup requesting a sav(e) file.
4. Chooe the correct sav(e) file corresponding to the NDS cart you're using in the Passme2

I have an EZ-Flash II 256Mb and Im using EZClient 3.20, I can do the first part of the process no problem but everything Ive underlined draws a blank, where is the Passme2 compatible option? (Im using a Magickey and I have V2 firmware so I assume thats not too important) but what about the save file? What is it and what does it do, and if I need it where do I get it? Ill be using Mario 64 DS for now but Ill buy a game with a bigger save file later when I get things working. Does that whole thing just relate to using Passme2 with one of the more recent firmwares? I assumed I would just cut the rom down to size with NDSTool, patch it with NDSPatch, burn it to the cart with EZClient then just insert the MagicKey and the cart and fire up the DS, do I need to do anything else?

Q2: Sorry for the long post but will EZClient v3.25 be better for using with DS roms than 3.20? Im just wondering if I should bother upgrading or not if its not going to make any difference...

Download a newer version of EZClient to have the PassMe2 compatibility. v3.22 is the first to have it. As for the compatibility with the different versions... you got me there. I heard that things aren't messed up like they are for us EZ3 users so I would expect 3.25 to be the best but that's just a guess. Trial an error is a common theme when it comes to DS...

I have windows 2k, and something's wrong with the driver, as windows is not recognizing it as one for the linker.

Does anyone know all the things you must change in ezwriter.inf for it to work with my current version of windows? If you can help, please do so.
