I have a problem. When attempting to run 256mb games from the 8gb section, it gives a warning message stating 'WARNING! a 256mb ROM about to be written to flash. Y' and it just cuts off there. What am I supposed to do to get it to run 256mb roms from the 8gb section???? After that message it just hangs. GRAAAGGHHGGHHGGHHH! Any help would be much appreciated.

I think I can help you with that. The normal space that a GBA game is loaded into when it is run is only 128Mb, so when you run a 256Mb game it has to load it into the NOR (the 256Mb section). This will take some time. However, it will stay there until you try to play another 256Mb game, so unless you have a few you should only have to wait once.

P.S> If you have anything in the NOR already, it will be wiped over.

OK, I have a similar question, but I just want someone to elaborate on HOW you get a game to the 256 NOR side, without being connected to a computer, since that's the only way I know to get it there. Is there something I'm missing? I have read in several places that you can "flash" games to the 256, but that it takes some time. This has been said without any mention of the writer or a computer. So, is it possible to move a 256 game from the 8g side over to the 256m and HOW do you do this?

Using the newer clients (I don't recall the exact version it was added anymore), you can write 32mbyte roms to the NAND memory, but you cannot execute them.

When you try, you will be given the option of writing the game to the NOR memory. If you press A, it will write and take about 5-10 mins to finish. It does mean that you can store multiple 32MB games on your EZ3, but you can still only play 1 at a time.

Thanks Slade, That made more sense than everything I had read. I understand now. I'll test mine and see if it works, if not, it's really not a big deal, currently only one of the 250 games I have, are over 128. :D

Thanks for the reply, Jonny9797. With that in mind, I think in future I'll just trim the roms using gbata rather than wait ages for the game to load up.
