Why does this seem like a NinjaDS to me?

I bet it won't play games.

It seems like a cut down version of their Max Media Player. Instead of getting a CF based hard drive you supply your own memory card. It doesn't specify which one. It does say Memory stick, but I'd be surprised if it's the Sony Memory Stick. I would have used SD cards as they're much cheaper. Although using a Memory Stick makes it cheaper for Datel, as they make one for the PSP as well.

Yeah, the Max Media Player is a 4 gig microdrive. You can however remove the microdrive and plug any CF into it and it works. I tried with my 1GB microdrive and it worked fine as well. It's funny I bought my microdrive when they were brand new on the market, for my camera. It cost me close to $300 at the time for the 1GB. Now they are about $100 for the 6GB on eBay. Anyway, The MMP does not play roms without the modified launcher someone posted for me called Max Overdrive or something similar. It will load some games but has nowhere near the compatability that my flashcarts do.

On a side note, there are tons of similar products out there for the PSP as well that allow you to use several different types of memory cards/microdrives in place of the memorystick pro duo all in one device. I think I have seen them with up to 8 different memory slots in one device. Like a USB card reader for the PSP. They have them with all of the slots and a microdrive already built in as well.
