Hi guys, i am new here... I have tried use the search to find my question, but no lucky.
I got a GBA SP (that one with a backlist screen). So, what is the best version of EZ Flash? I, II, III, IV or V?
I think is V of course, btw i only see topics and reviews of it using a NDS, but i have a GBA SP. So, EZ Flash V is compatible with a GBA SP or i need buy a EZ Flash IV?
I live in Brazil, here, i have seen only EZ Flash IV for sell.
If someone can send me more information about this subject i will appreciate.

well the ezflash v is a ds flashcart and your only option is the ezflash IV, since the others stopped manufacturing(not sure about this)

Hey Guys,
My question is similar to the original poster, so I thought I'd add it to this thread as well -- hope you don't mind.
Question: I'm looking for a card that can do the following: 1. Compatible with the Gameboy SP/Advance 2. Compatible with the Gameboy Player (hooks up to the GC/allows you to play on the TV) 3. Can hold multiple games
Proton123 said that the EZFlash V is only a DS cart -- is this true? I found the "EZFlash 3-in-1 Expansion Pack (GBA Size)" on another site, and it claimed it was compatible with the GBA/SP etc..
Sorry for the questions, let me know if I can be more clear or if you'd like a summary ): -- I just need to get something quick before my family members birthday arrives =X!
I am not going point by point just yet as it is probably easier to explain in another way: EZ4 original (as in miniSD); 1:1 GBA size. EZ4 lite (same as miniSD but uses microSD): will have a few mm sticking out of a DSlite, you can file it down though EZ4 lite compact and lite deluxe: should be flush with lite unless you want to get a set of callipers.
All carts will work in all models of the GBA (GBplayer* is fine as well) and DS (obviously not DSi) if you can get the cart in (my EZ4lite is my main GBA and DS (original) cart for a couple of years now). As usual the EZ4 lite compact has considerably reduced GBA capabilities (games up to 64Mbit-8 megabytes only), EZ4 lite deluxe has better GBA abilities (256Mbit PSRAM, 384 Mbit NOR- average game is 64 or 128Mbit while they go up to 256Mbit). The other EZ4 models have 128Mbit PSRAM and 256Mbit NOR.
*the GB player sometimes adds extra features (rumble and what have you) to the games, this can fall down for some as it detected via the header of the game at initial boot which would be your EZ4 loader as far as it is concerned. No real workarounds that I want to get into right now (might be possible to fiddle with the header) but as far as games actually running it is no big deal.
The EZ5 is a DS only cart but a few months after the EZ5 was released the EZTeam released a small "expansion pack" to allow it to play GBA games called the "EZ5 3 in 1 expansion pack" (3 in 1 refers to RAM: homebrew and DS browser), rumble and NOR/GBA capability), they also released some source code and it took off in a big way courtesy of it being cheap and having tools and loaders of other carts supporting it. As it tends to the name got shortened to 3 in 1. None the less it will work but you will need to put games on there with a DS slot cart so I do not suggest it for what you want to use it for, "multiple roms" is technically available with it but it has been dropped from current EZ5 loaders as it was unstable and introduced some limitations.
That link is wrong if it is a GBA size cart; the description is for the lite deluxe and the only GBA size EZ4 is the original. As I said though if you are willing to get creative with a craft knife, some sandpaper and a ribbon it will not be a problem.
multiple games: You can stick several on the NOR (256Mbit is a fair amount of space and enough for a handful of games without issue. Average game size is 64Mbit or 128Mbit and you can usually lose a good chunk of that if you trim the rom (EZ4client does it for you), generally big RPGs are bigger than puzzle games but it is probably easier for you to go to http://www.advanscene.com/ and look games up. Most people with an original EZ4 or EZ4lite will reserve the 256Mbit section for any games greater than 128Mbit (some game hacks use the "spare" 16 megabytes). The EZ4 lite deluxe has 256 MBit (the limit on all released games) of PSRAM and 384 of NOR partially as people wanted bigger sizes meaning it does not matter so much there.
For the ?SD card (which uses the PSRAM) you are only limited by the filesystem* and obviously the size of the ?SD.
*and the EZ4 interpretation thereof- 80 files per directory but there is nothing stopping you making a new directory somewhere else. But you ask what above saves; no worries it is only viewing that causes problems and you should have no reason to view the saves from the EZ4 menu.
General idea: NOR; slow to write, needs to delete files in first in last out order (FILO) but will stay there until you erase them. PSRAM: quick to write, loses data when you power down (the save is on battery backed ram until next boot when it is written back so no worries there).
