I used Ciro's Pokemon maker to make some code in AR3 format for Pokemon Emerald. I imported it into ARcrypt and exported it as single column of code.
I then imported that code into ar2cht and made a cht file, but to me the code doesn't look correct. I read somewhere that after ar2cht you have to do a little formatting yourself, like the extra commas, and semi-colons etc but I am unclear how to correctly format it, could someone please point me in the right direction please?

For starters, you don't need the master code in VBA, it's the seed code, used to encrypt the rest of the codes.
I'm going to leave the rest up to someone else. Most people here know of my dislike for Pokemon. It's a pain to cheat with.
It also looks like you've put the CODE cheats into VBA then tried exporting the clt file and running it through Cheat2Cheat. Which won't work.
If you're going to do that, you've got to put in the CHEAT type cheats. All 3 input boxes. Mem location, Value, and Name. Then export that and convert it with Cheat2Cheat. You'll have much more luck.
First off the Anti-DMA code isn't going to work. And with that not working then the Pokemon code probably won't work either. I can't check what a type 04 code is at the moment cuz gscentral is down. You will find that Pokemon games are some of the hardest to cheat at and may result in corrupted game saves, crashes, etc. A better method is to use the codes in an emulator and then save your game. Then at least you can use cheats that modify things that get saved -- like Pokemon caught, etc. Good luck!

Thanks, that's a good idea.
I haven't touched VBA or Cheat2Cheat yet, but I think using VBA to save it is a better approach.
I'm not the biggest fan of Pokemon, but Pokemon and Advance Wars2 and Chu Chu Rocket are great games for playing at work so you're boss doesn't notice.
Any fast action games will always certainly get you busted
So inputting the AR3 / Raw cheats into VBA does not require Mastercode or Anti-DMA? ok
