I was playing some GBA roms from the NOR (256) side of my 1G EZF3 using the NDS loader (I have NDS roms on the EZ-Disk side). I have the save settings set on OBLIGED, so that I will never accidently lose a save. I'm using an unflashed DS with an EZ-Pass.

Here's my problem: After playing the GBA roms on the NOR side, the EZFlash got stuck trying to write its save upon the next time I turned the power on. It said "Touch to Skip", but wouldn't skip (probably because I have the settings on obliged save).

Has anyone else had this problem? I tried to format the 256 side and leave the 1g side alone (as it had FF3 on it!). No success, even though the NOR roms were gone, it still was trying to write the save. Luckily, I was able to backup my saver folder for FF3 and I formated the whole cart in EZ-Manager 2.22.

OMG!!! To my suprise, even after a full format, upon powering on it still was trying to write the old GBA save! WTF! I can't touch to skip for some reason!? :(

Any suggestions? Where is this save stored that it is trying to write? On the NDS cart in my EZ-Pass? How do I empty the SRAM and get past this silly problem? I will try EZ-Check next...

If you want to empty the SRAM make a 256Kbit file of 00's and write under passme2 compatibility mode.

I am not a computer guru and I don't understand what you mean...do I fill a .txt file with 00's until I see the size as 256kb? Then I select EZpass compatibility and write the file to the NOR or NAND side?

I just formatted the entire cart with EZ-Check utility and then put only FF3.nds on the EZ-Disk side and the silly GBA saver issue came up again - I can't even get to the EZPDA screen.

I tried putting Mario Kart DS into the EZPass instead of my Mario 64 cart thinking the SRAM was maybe stored there temporarily...but same thing happens - trying to write that old GBA rom I was playing.

Is there a manual way to change the save settings to Auto instead of Obliged? I'm thinking this is where the problem lies? Otherwise, how do I wipe the SRAM so the cart doesn't try to write the save in the first place?

Yay! You are a GOD!

I fooled around with EZ-manager and clicked on EZPass 2 Compatibility Options and it asked for a saver file...I just chose any file - I think it was an advance wars save file. I then just stuck the cart in my DS and Voila - instead of saving it said "First power on" and allowed me to skip by touching the screen.

Thanks again...
