Problem:
Can't install the writer after a OS reinstall, new comp or some other reason you no longer have the manager installed.

Error:
Cant find ezwrite2.sys and/or invalid INF in the Service part of the file.

Solution(please read it through first before trying):
Download the two managers listed in the links below, and extract them to folders of your choice.

(short version below :P )

Removing any previous (failed) installs first:

1. Remove the hardware from from the device manager:
example(winxp):
Start->Run
Type "compmgmt.msc" press enter
Click on device manager
Expand "usb-controllers" if need be.
Right click on the ez-writer and choose remove.
(Note the writer has to be plugged in for it to show up in the list)

2. Remove the 3 installed files from windows:
Which in my case is C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
The files are:
ApLoader.sys
ezwinit2.sys
ezwrit3.sys

Just delete them

This is to make sure nothing goes afoul.

Installing the EZ Writer II

Remove the connector cable from the writer and re-plug it.
(or in device manager, right click the top icon and select "look for hardware changes" ... or what ever its called in english).

Now it should find the writer and ask for drivers.

1. Locate the folder where the newest version of the manager is located (in the guide ver. 2.07) and direct the installer to the \driver_writr2 subfolder.

It should at one point complain about a missing file.

2. Locate the folder where the old version of the manager is located (ver. 1.0) and direct the installer to the \driver_writr2 subfolder.

It should now be properly installed.

3. Delete the folder with the old version (but keep the zip for reinstall purposes  ), and use the new manager.

The short version, for the impatient ones
Remove previous device install and the 3 files.
DL and extract the two zips, start the install again.
First use the new managers driver folder, then when
asked for the ezwrite2.sys use the old one.

 Download EZ Mangager Ver. 1.0

 Download EZ Mangager Ver. 2.07

Both are found in this thread, also you should check the thread for any newer manager versions than 2.07

This worked for me, the old drivers are not included in the new manager, and as I havnt had any troubles I havnt bothered to check whether it is a oversight that the files are missing or if they'd changed the drivers without taking compatibility with the older writer into consideration. Nor have I checked how the new manager interacts if you've installed the writer using only the old files.

Hope this'll work for you too.

(oh and thanks alot for hosting the old files as well as the new sosuke... really saved my day :D )

I did this and it worked for the EZ WRITE 2 initalization but when it started for another hardware called USB device (EZ write 2) I first tried the 2.07 drivers and it said a file was missing and promted me to click finish as my only choice and i did. So i then tried to use the v1 drivers and it told me "The specified location does not contain information about your hardware" What should i do?

The computer finally started calling the EZ WRITE 2 a EZ WRITE 2 instead of 3. I thought this meant it would be working now but still same problem of games from 1gig space not doing anything but show the gameboy logo. I just checked the driver that EZ WRITE is using and it says C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\ezwrit3.sys does this mean it still has same qualities of EZ WRITE 3? how can i change it so it uses ezwrit2.sys or w/e it needs

EDIT:::: I rolled back and it is now using ezwrit2.sys as driver. Good right? I try to open my EZManager and it freeze instantly and when i try to Atl Contol Delete it won't close till i disconnect my EZ Write. what now?
