I'm having a weird issue with the NOR side of my new EZFlash III. The writer is a II, however - could this be what's causing the problem? It came with the cartridge.

Running on a DS as well, with the DS mode OS formatted onto the cart.

Using EZManager 2.09 test version, also tried it with the most updated version (is it 2.20? The one in the downloads topic)

What happens, is when writing to the NOR memory, the writing bar will always freeze. Sometimes it will get thru part of the writing before freezing, and other times it will freeze right off without even giving a percent. "Writing..." and blank white.

This same problem happens with any ROM I try to write to this, all 3 that I've tried. (Megaman Battle Network 6, Pokemon Emerald, and New Super Mario Bros.)

However, the NAND (1g) memory side works fine, I've run Megaman from it - but I am told you cannot run NDS roms from this side... seeing as it says "Can not add NDS Homebrew" when I try to stick Mario on it.
This is a patched version of Mario said to run without the white screens... - I got the patch somewhere on this board

Another note: EZ_Mode.exe doesn't work for me as of yet. It gives me 2 greyed out options... and is full of ?????'s that I can only assume to be Chinese.

If you have a writer 2 then you do not need EZMode.

EZManager 2.20 is the latest version.

It sounds like you NOR memory could be messed up, try using http://ezflash.sosuke.com/files/EZ3Check.rar to clean it as it has worked for many in a similar situation.

You can run commercial roms from the NAND, quite in fact that is where they have to go if you a using EZManagers patching mechanisms, it is advisable to format your cart every time to avoid fragmentation of your roms which generally causes them not to work, this is not an issue for the GBA roms though.

The WRG patched version of NSMB technically counts as homebrew code so it has to be put on the 256 section, for anyone reading WRG released a patched rom but I turned it into a XDelta patch: http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?t=1266
