There is probably something I simply overlooked, and it may be stupid to bring this up, but is it at all possible to change savetypes or something?

Metroid Prime Hunters really wants a DS card to be inserted for it to even boot, and then it'll attack the DS card's save memory.

The save type appears as 'unknown' on release lists, so that isn't much good.
Is this just a case of no software support, or is there something I have missed (setting save type, configuration options, something like that)?

EDIT: additionally, the DS seems to have lost its standby function when I close it up. It goes into standby, but then immediately wakes up again, and will enter into a cycle of going into standby and resuming, infinitely. Any ideas on how to counter it? DS is flashmed with V6, and I'm using ezclient 3.25
(also changed topic title for changed content)

I don't know about the save type. But I have experienced the standby thing-a-ma-bob. It comes from having a non-standard cartridge in the GBA slot. I first noticed when I played AWDS with an EZII. No solution.

Well it seems the standby thing has to do with not having a DS card inserted. When there is one, it seems to work okay...

Recently I tried using LoadMe to patch savetype of Metroid Prime Hunters, and then setup ezclient to make it a 2Mbit flash save with EZ-type patch, and it works now, albeit only with passme2 inserted. The odd thing is, the EZ-Flash is not setup for passme2 compatibility...
Just a card won't do, and nothing at all in slot 1 also gives no result. I'm still pretty much a n00b when it comes to this whole thing, but isn't the point of FlashMe to eliminate the need for passme? Is there some setting or procedure I missed?

Basically, I want to just slap a ROM onto the EZ-F2, clean or patched I don't care, as long as it works. I don't want to have this enormous passme sticking out of my DS. Is that at all possible?

Yeah the standby issues are because of the lack of a DS cart although DS games with GBA cart bonus features seem to have trouble.

The passme2 section of EZClient just gives the option to add a .sav file to the cart (the passme 2 variants trick the DS into loading code from the save ram).

I hear from various other threads and forums that MPH only works with a passme device: you will have to wait for a patchdll.dll update, I have not tried it with this paticular rom but I have taken my EZPass out midgame before to no ill effect.

Edit: I think I misinterpreted your question maybe you are experiencing a bug with flashme.

I'm not sure whether it is a bug... a few other games have given me these issues as well, such as polarium or that worms thingy game. I will do some further testing.

And I know that the passme2 compatibility thing does the savegame, but I was under the impression it needed the .sav to boot the passme... guess not..?

But anyway, regardless of the issue, it cannot be due to savegame type? When I did not patch MPH it popped up a "data cannot be read" screen, and if I put Mario Kart in the DS it would start overwriting its saves, so that kind of makes me suspicious. Of course, this may also be patchdll, but just checking :)

Additionally, I tried removing the passme ingame (and during title screen), both result in lockup.

Just to recap:
-clean ROM: 'data cannot be read', overwrites DS card
-LoadMe patched new FW style, ezclient set to flash 2Mbit, EZ-type save patch: needs passme2

...
Hmm yeah it does seem like there hasn't been an update in the patchdll section for quite some time... Well I'll just have to sit tight, then... thanks for the help guys :)
