Right, well i bought a Smart Card 2, but after trawling through mountains of forums, i think its actually a rebranded EZF, either 1 or 2, but not sure.

My problem is that using the software provided i cant load ANY roms to the cart - all the buttons are greyed out. It came with GBWriter 3.3. Ive tried using LittleWriter which just crashes upon loading, and now have various incarnations of EZ Writer/Client. The closest i come to anything working is using EZ Flash III (EZ-AGBW).

Using this software i have to tick the 'super' box, which then ungreys the menu and i can select a rom form HD. I then click wri.rom and it looks like somethings going to happen - the LED on the linker starts flashing quickly. A few seconds later i get this error message;

--DEV 0 --UNKNOWN_ERR: 0X14(20)

i havnt got a clue wot this means, or how to solve it! The loader then crashes.

Anyone got some very wise words?

Cheers!

I do not think it is an EZFlash clone (maybe EZFA).

Still here are some downloads/guides for smart card aparently:

It does not look that far advanced so the app GBATA may be a fine addition to the toolkit:

Thanks for your quick reply.

The link you provided is for a printer port linker, but mine is a usb linker, this link is the exact version ive got;

http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/d ... 12MB-.html

i have the 512mb version.

The reason i thought it was a rebranded EZF was because it looks VERY similar to this;

http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_ca ... erstar.htm
http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_ca ... writer.htm

From the above two links, ive tried downloading the relevant software, but its a dead end, with dead links.

Any more light?

Cheers

You could try this, searching tells me the software is not held in high regard mind:

Funnily enough thats an older version of the packaged software! Where and how did you find that!?

It still, unfortunately, does not work. The only button highlighted on the main menu that i can click is 'erase'. After pressing this, 'wri.sav', 'readrom' and 'readsav' are highlighted, but are of no use att he moment - i dont think.

...I thought i just found something. In the dialog box that says 'SRAM size' it says 0. so i changed the registry to read 8, as i read this elsewhere, somewhere. This didnt solve the problem, but when i pressed 'erase' this time, its put some info in the game list;

Rom: 1
File Name: yy
Size Bit: 0.3 Mb <
Size Byte: 32 KB
Internal Name: yyyyyyyyyyyy
SaveType: SRAM

Mean anything?

Thanks for your help!!

PS. I thought i just did it!! from a previous effort with other software i had saved a 'project', wotever that is. I opened it in this software, and it brought up the rom in the game list, with all the right info, and the 'wri.rom' highlighted!! i clicked it and for my efforts i got a brand new error, woot.

--DEV 0--WRITE_ERR: 0X 2( 2)

However, the program didnt crash after this as with the other programs, hmmm... Also, this error message appears after 64k has been written to the cart, though this is according to the little dialog on the very bottom left of the window

So, loading the saved 'project' in GBWriter (the software that came with the cart), i get this;

Image

What does the size problem mean? After i click OK the 'wri'rom' button is highlighted, which i press and it says;

"No more space for Game Loader. Please check Card packsize and your total selected game size"

I'm a little confused as to what this means or what i have to do. Do i have to change the 'SRAM size' box?

Thanks!
