Post subject: Powerstar II menu loads but no games run
PostPosted: Mon Jun 12, 2006 11:56 am
I have a 256 MB EZ Flash II PowerStar and everything seems to be fine with the drivers on XP and EZ-Client. I can burn the games and loader on with no problem (though running Software Update killed my loader and I had to replace it). When I put the cart in my DS, I get a gameboy logo and see the installed games but none will run. it just runs the GBA logo again and goes back to the menu.

I thought it was a patching issue, but it looks like I have patched roms and the same thing happens for pocketNES and Goomba. Anyone know what's up with this?

Try running a rom check (second menu in from the left).

If it shows a gameboy logo your cart should still be good. You might also want to press a instead of b to not hard reset and load a rom.

I know you already have but you may also wish to grab a older version and redo your cart with that.

I have to flash the DS to run GBA games?

I ran ROM checks before with no problem but I'll try another. I've tried both A and B with no results.

Do you mean an older version of EZclient or an older Gameboy? I'm going to try it on my nephew's GBA and see if it works.

OK, I guess I'm an idiot for just assuming the DS would just play these. They worked fine on a GBA.

I read everything I could on setting up drivers and using EZ-Client but assumed all the passMe stuff was just to get the DS to play pirated/homebrew DS games, not GBA stuff. Can someone link me to a description of what I'd have to do to get my DS to run this EZ-Flash?

All the *me and nopass stuff is completely unecessary for running GBA games: my DS ran my EZ2 for months before patching and passme's took off.

Try disabling the loader (uncheck both loaders in the system config box) and then burning a game.

Yeah, that actually works, except I can only load one game at a time. Why do you think the loader works fine on the GBA and not at all on the DS?

Is there some sort of newer version of the loader I need to get? I'm using Client 3.26 with driver 1.54 and Patch DLL 1.24. Not sure about the loader but it's the one that came with 3.26 and it gets ruined by an auto software update.
