DSPDA is a DS-aware GBA loader for the EZ3. It allows for the use of a new border image thanks to ph0x's borderds. It also runs on GBA and unmodded DS! The usage is very simple as it is more or less a modified EZPDA ROMbuilder. The only "extra" thing to worry about is the border.bmp file which is only active in a modded DS.
Pretty sweet. Why didn't I think of that? Did you just use loader.bin as your GBA and run it through BorderDS without any other mods?

Well, it works like the old ROMbuilder, and since I'm lazy, the border is actually in the loader twice, once in the filesystem and once as the border. And I did make it so that it would all run from \res and so that border.png would be border.bmp.
EDIT: Ha, I've made myself a liar. The border is now only in the loader once, the readme is a bit better, and it doesn't copy a bunch of files to the top directory to apply the border anymore (I've never had to use the "cd" command in a batch file before... )

thats what i thought but im using ezpass2 (which is a passme right??) and the border isnt showing up
or is this becuz you leave passme in to boot the GBA loader ohhh that must be it der me
Wait, I'm not following. It's essentially the ez3 loader, but with a border, correct? I'm assuming to use this method you still need to load this on a DS via a passme type device. And by "dual boot", what are you referring to? Is this able to boot the ez3 either in gba mode or through a passme type device to add the fancy border dealie? Other than that it looks the same, although it looks like you edited out some of the engrish and improper word wrapping.

Yes, it's mostly a fast-boot hack for FlashMe or a laziness-boot for PassMe. It just happens to extend the skinning functionality a bit.

i just installed flashme v7 this morning and the border wont show up now
it works fine again when i use the ezpass again and load it up
but when i take it out and rely on flashme (works with my NDS OS cart) there is no border
i have tried ez3check/format and write the OS with different managers but still no go
it boots to the main NDS OS (with pictochat and settings) but with ezpass in it boots to your OS fine
so it would seemthis is not flashmev7 compatable only passme
or i have done somthing wrong (maybe becuz had your OS on there before flashme)
and that sucks becuz once i got used to it i dont wanna be without it now :'(

It seriously should work with FlashMe, since that's all I use and it works for me... Could you send me your file so I can look at it?

the file ive been trying to use is already packed in dspdav1.1,rar
"\DSPDA\loader_GBA.bin"
i take that and put it into the sysbin of many managers and write the OS
it says its writing "OS Version: .e8" is that right??
your border shows up and it boots straight to GBA with ezpass in
i take ezpass out and it boots to main menu than i load the GBA cart and there is no border
i wonder what i am doing wrong becuz otherwsie im sure i did flashme v7 correctly
when i use NDS OS it boots straight to EZPDA NDS as with flashme it should
any tips??
any version of manager i should put on the OS with??

just tested 1.2 and its the same deal it seams
works with ezpass but not without
and i tested it with 2 different EZ3 carts and so its not the cart
i guess its just my bad luck something wrong with my DS or somethin :'(
thanks a lot for the hard work anyway i really appeciate it
you said in the readme "fixed header for FlashMe boot"
is there a way i can check what is happening in any of my stuff with that??
i mean i open the loader.bin with hexedit and at the top it says "PASSDF"
i dunno what im talking about ofcorse but maybe there is some way i can help here
heres my "specs" maybe this will help:-
started with early NDS with firmware2 (AUS)
have 2 EZ3 flash carts - 1gbit (for GBA) and 2gbit (for NDS)
write using EZ writer II
used EzPass2 (pre-flashme7) and have these carts:-
-metroid prime first hunt demo
-super mario 64 DS
-mario kart DS
-metroid prime hunters (mostly this is the one in my NDS slot)
recently installed flashme v7 successful (boots NDS OS straight away no health warning no need for passme)
wrote flashme v7 with 2.22 manager (driver 1.54) to NOR side with regular 1.04 NDS OS
use ez3check and manager 2.20 to format
write NDS stuff with 2.22
write GBA stuff mostly with 2.07
tried writing the border GBA OS with 2.07 2.09b1 2.09b4 2.10 2.20 2.22
seams to not matter what manager i update the OS with
also tried the following:-
overwriting the loader_NDS.bin with the border loader
overwriting the ez_flash.bin with the original in the RAR (becuz they seamed the same filesize )
(i back them up and restore them when im done those silly tests you guys probably giggle at me for )
ez3checking and formating the cart before writing OS
thats about it anything else i could try i would really appreciate it dont wanna live without it :'(
if you can find differents then thats probably it the reason it wont work but once again thanks
