If you can't wait for the fix, just use the unbricker2.0 to update in v108, you know how to do that already it seems.

Ok, this may be the wrong place, but I figured I'd try. I just got a 3DS yesterday. I also go the EZ Flash Vi. I updated my 3DS to 3.0.0-6. I went through the quickstart guide for the EZ Flash Vi. I have firmware v108 and the 3.0 OB7 Kernel on a formatted microSD. When I put in the card it pops up with a picture of Guilty Gear, but when I try to run it, it gives me a "An error has occurred. etc. etc." error. Is there something special I need to do the first time, or is there something I'm missing?

You should have udpated the firmware of you EZ5i before update your 3DS.
Now there is nothing you can do apart find a DS/DSlite or a dsi in 1.4.3 or a 3DS in 2.0 so you can launch the v108 updater.

Lame, but my neice has an old ds of some sort. If I can get my hands on it is there any special instructions I need to know, or will it work right away?

Alright, so I had to update my EZ Vi with the unbricker 2.0 - I was getting the CRC Error, using the v108 update, as well. However I did not unbrick my card with the unbricker 1.01 - I simply updated my card back then.
Anyways, icon is Sudoku Gridmaster, menu shows [108], so I'm happy.

I have a DSi (805) with a EZVi card with firmware 105 and kernel 3.0 OB7. I didn't upgrade to firmware 106 because it was unsafe. Is firmware 108 now safe to upgrade?
If I need to unbrick, do I need a DSLite or DS only?

unbricked, all now is fine

a couple of things anyway:
- changing skin menu made the kernel crash, needed to delete it and put it in anew
- loading and starting new games seems slower, not much but sensibly. maybe for this i just need to set up the correct options in the rom menu.

Thanks anyway (had a lot of luck today, bicked ez but new unbricker in realtime)

Updated on my mother's DSLite from 106 to 108. Went smoothly. ^_^ Works great on my 3DS now. Question though... Is the extra flash of white screens right after launching it supposed to happen? If it is, then no biggie. It still loads and plays just fine again. ^_^

This is safe to update right? I'm just making sure. Also, can I update my DSi firmware after I finished updating the EZ Flash firmware to v108?

Ok, so. Here is what we can read on the official website :

firmware v107 users must use unbricker 2.0 to update their card to v108, can't direct update using v108 updater.

Today the team has identified the CRC error problem that happens when your ez5i is in v107 firmware, when you used the unbricker 1.01 to do the update in v107 or to unbrick your flashcart.
The safer way to update in v108 from v107 is to use the unbricker 2.0. I'm sorry guys but they tried to make a v108a updater but it's not safe and you will have to use the unbricker 2.0 at the end.

Some will be disapointed because they will need again to find a ds or dslite, i'm sorry for them.
