good afternoon,

I have downloaded Pokemon Black en White for the ds.
But we have 1 problem ... there is an AP on the game. (AP = Anti Privacy)
This means that no EXP to reach if you have defeated a pokemon.
your pokemon will always remain at the same level.
there is already a patch?

Thanks,
larss

AP is anti piracy.

My Pokemon Black crashed for no reason. I thought maybe this was the same anti piracy method they used on SoulSilver/HeartGold where they would crash after a number of events.

I heard that your Pokemon cannot gain EXP during the tutorial phase.

From what i can read on several forums there is 2 AP.
The first one is a random freezing due the reads under 0x8000. This happen only on old ez5 (v1, v2 and Plus).
The second, you can't earn exp point once a pokemon is defeated in combat.
This second AP can't be handled by the ez5i's special mode and of course by the normal mode of old ez5 (v1, v2 and Plus).
We have to wait for a kernel update. i hope the team can fix the ez5i's special mode at the same time (POP is still not handled properly by this mode).

No clue on this. Patches are not released by teams.
Only kernels update. ;)

Oh, it's a terrible shame I even bothered to buy an EZ5 Plus then.

Oh wait, the EZ5i wasn't released, and I can't afford to buy it or a DSi at the moment.

And we all know the Kernal 2.0 series isn't going to get a decent update. There's been gaming issues with it for months that still haven't been sorted.

Not sure I like Pokemon Black anyway. The starter Pokemon are fugly, the sprites don't follow you. I hate double battles, nevermind triple. And it's in Japanese. xD

I just saw that. This hex fix should be ok on EZ5i.
For old ez5 v1, V2 and Plus, Rudolph released a full fix on ds-scene.net. ;)

/// THE UNIVERSAL CHILD'S PLAY PATCH WAS UPDATED!! ///

How to play "Pocket Monster : Black" on your R4

For R4 User:

1. Download Patch.rar and get a Patch.exe file from the RAR archive.

2. Drag your ROM and drop it onto the Patch.exe.

3. Copy the attached two files, infolib.dat and extinfo.dat, to the TTMENU folder of your DSTT.

For DSTT User (Just reference, not be applied to the Pokemon):

Note: You can use the latest kernel DSTT Kernel v1.17a12 rev29a for implemeting the latest extinfo.bat file.

Note:
This path is not only for "Pocket Monster : Black". It's one of game to be patched by Universal Child's Play Patch.
The file having the ".bak" extension is the backup copy of the original nds file.

Credit to Rudolph.

I only followed steps 1 and 2 for my EZ5 Plus and so far Pokemon Black works great. My Pokemon earns exp and no crashes as of yet.

Hi there,
The problem I am having is that I try to exit the first town and the game freezes. I have done the hex patch on my Pokemon White. Also, when I enter a pokémon center, the camera won't stop zooming in. I have firmware version 3.0 OB on my EZ-Flash Vi. The hex editing did stop the AP for EXP gaining though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Fidadoudafi

are you using ob1 or ob2? you should update if you're on ob1.
