the .DAT file goes into your \EZ5Shell\ folder and cheats need a couple of things in check:- 1. that the DAT file is in the right place and updated 2. that the rom actually supports cheats 3. that the rom is not patched? (methinks some patched roms cant use cheats?) and finally 4. you must actually turn cheats ON in the settings menu which is done by highlighting your rom in the file list then touching the "reserve" icon (diffrent from diffrent skins) which will access the settings menu where you can turn them ON

Hello,
I am using a DSLite and I have an EzZ-FlashVi card.
I was running 1.90 b11 and upgraded to Firmware 12, and then to the newest v101. It boots up fine, but when I try to go into my roms folder, it freezes. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thank you.
edit: i tried it again and this time i waited instead of turning my DS off right away. It gave a list of errors about corrupted data. So I tried CHKDSK to fix errors, and it didn't work. But apparently just moving all of the roms in the folder into a different folder fixed it. o_O
You should not need a nopass to run GBA stuff from an EZ4- that can be done from the main menu. Still
There is a rebooter for GBA mode but that is neither here nor there really ( http://l33t.spod.org/~cory1492/EZDStoGBA_V2.zip ). The same buttons that launch the EZ 3 in 1 can force the GBA mode but it only loaded the NOR when I tested it (worked for the EZ2 though).
See if you can find one of the nopass dumps, as I recall running one of them- they should work while the nopass stuff gets sorted. I think the last update broke it.
Option 2 is run flashme and then forceboot the GBA slot (probably far from ideal I know).

I've tried your link and it boots the NOR of the GBA mode in ezIV. I've tried a passme dump and it didnt' work, but I remembered that I can play GBA games simply booting the EzIV from the NDS main menu.
I feel a bit stupid now. The only thing I can't do is play the NDS games I had on EzIV, but I don't use them anymore.
PD: Now the problem I have is that EzVI crashes a lot (whatever is on freezes). It happens a lot when is loading the menu, and sometimes it gives an error. I'll post this error the next time it shows.

So this is the error. I was playing DQIX (clean rom, I think) and it Freezed. I play on a DS-Lite.
I restarted EzVi and this error showed up:
Code:
(pacman symbol)?
nnn11_3_1FreeMem=1896448byte nnn11_3_3mainloop. Open setting file [/EZ5Shell/SHELL.DAT] DataSectorIndex=343744. Load Settings. Setting load from file. Can not change path. [4] Can not change path. [13]
cmp1=ENGLISH.INI flg=0Shell_FAT_fopen_Data=/EZ5SHELL/LANGUAGE/ENGLISH.INI Setup default code page is '936'. Shell_FAT_fopen_Data=/EZ5SHELL/SYSTEM.FON
here maomao here maomao1 Loadad font for your language.
cmp1=ENGLISH.INI flg=0Shell_FAT_fopen_Data=/EZ5SHELL/LANGUAGE/ENGLISH.INI Language materials count=0 Fatal error: Lang_GetUTF8: Language file not loaded.
Application halted!!
PD: Now I've reformated the microsd (a SCD-02 Japan or whatever, a good one). No changes, it booted with the same error. After a few tries, I managed to boot Dragon Quest IX and it froze another time. Now if I try to boot Ez Vi I get black on both screens.
I have no clue of what's happening. The micro SD seems to run fine, but I'm going to try another one (a SCD-01) to see what happens.
PD2: Seems the same problem as Relle
PD3: Well, I reformated another time the SD, and managed to play DQIX for a bit (the patched one). After about 10 minutes of play, white screen on the bottom and black screen on the top. It seems to freeze when changing map only.
I tried to restart Ez Vi and the result was a black screen 5 times. The sixth time, I get a sad smiley made on ASCII and this message:
Code:
This kernel cannot be used on this flashcart. Only use for e25i H705/805 that used new firmware.
FirmwareVer = 96a32a82
Application halted!!!
I had v12 firmware before updating, and after updating I checked in the options menu and it said: H805, F v101 and k3.0 OB1.
What the hell is happening? it is a true EzVi card (original package, all worked, etc), no problems prior to this. Only after updating.
PD4: After leaving the DS Lite alone for a while, Ez Vi now boots "as before" (sometimes it freezes when loading the menu, but no black screens). No luck with the DQIX random freezes too.

HI, I have a problem and I hope I can get help from you. 3 Months ago I bougth EZ-Flash Vi for my DSI-XL ( 1.4E/805) with the SD-Card ( Scandisc 8 GB ). I was search for the Firmware with Kernel and I think I installed the Firmware V15 with Kernel 2.0 RC10 but I am not 100% safety. The first time it went all good and all Games works. When I installed the Firmware V101 with Kernel 3.0 OB1 all Games didn´t work on the beginning or the Games freeze in the middle of the Game. All Games they works with the old Firmware don´t work now. I installed the olden version of the Firmware but it don´t work. When I copy it on the SD-card and turn on the DSI-XL the Display is black. Only the new Firmware V101 with Kernel 3.0 OB1 works with the above problems and all the other Firmware and Kernel don´t work. Is my EZ-Flash Vi death now? Please help me !!!!

^ I think you bricked your cart... But there might be other solutions. The answer to your games not working could be fixed w/ special mode or eNDryptS
