I have one more bug report here :)
My EZVi started to hanging up after loading screen again ( black screen ). So i formatted SD card again, copied all roms back where they was and guess what ? Of course, black screen again! After testing a bit i figured out a strange thing: if you copy roms to created directory on SD there is black screen on boot or if you reinstall your "EZ5Shell" folder ( it will not resume file browsing from where it was, but start from root folder instead ) it will hang up when you're trying to enter your roms folder, BUT if you copy roms to ROOT folder, boot up EZVi, turn it off, create roms folder, put roms there then it will enter roms folder with no problems at all. My guess is that kernel is collecting some kind of roms information at first boot and it can do so only from root folder. So if you guys are experiencing that kind of problem algorithm of your actions should go like this: copy all your saves and roms from SD ( duh :D ) -> format SD ( preferably with official SD formatting tool by Matsushita Electric Industrial, as it says on wiki page, also i recommend to fully purge your SD by picking ERASE option which will write random data to your SD and then format it, so there will be no data leftovers ) -> install fresh kernel files ( "EZ5Shell" folder, ez5isys.bin and ez5sys.bin ) -> copy roms to ROOT of your SD -> put SD in EZVi -> boot it up -> take out SD and connect it to computer again -> create roms folder -> cut and paste roms from ROOT of SD to roms folder -> Enjoy !
I dont know if it is only my problem or not but bug report is bug report, right ? :)

MicroSDHC are that expensive that you can't afford to buy one ?

Was browsing around and in the "Useful links for the EZV" thread, it suggests using the 3.0 OB1 kernel for the EZV. But my EZV plus doesn't seem to recognize the 3.0 OB1 Kernel and is still using the 2.0 R16 one. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is the 3.0 OB1 kernel specifically for the EZVi?

This firmware is either buggy as hell or there's some special setting I'm missing, because it's crashing constantly. It crashes at the loading screen, when I'm in the game menu, when I'm setting cheats and checking the system settings. Yes, I'm on EZVi and not V+, I'm looking at the little i on my card right now. Yes, I updated the firmware properly using version 15 on 805, went to 101 and I've got the new 3.0 kernel, and I'm on a DS Lite.

When it crashes I see a long string of 'nnn13' and then this stuff:

DStack:0 Pos:64, Used:1444, Total:12800
Wait for key releases.
liberror: inflate! ???
Fatal error: ZLIB decompress error.
Application halted!!

That was from when I tried to set a cheat for DQ9. It also sometimes won't go into the game menu and just hangs at the splash screen. I'm using a Sandisk 4GB micro SDHC (4). So is it the fault of the card I'm using or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Edit: Oh, when I can get everything working and the rom to load, trying to load a save in DQ9 causes the game to freeze. This is on a clean rom rather than the cracked release. I tried the same thing on Chrono Trigger (also a clean rom) and while it'll boot up and go to the load screen, when I try to load a saved game the whole thing freezes.

Update your EZ5i in firmware v101 and use kernel 3.0ob1.
If you still have problems look at the wiki link in my sig and try a full format of your microsd.

I said in my post, I updated the firmware and I'm using the new kernel. I tried a full format earlier and it's still causing problems. I'll try the Panasonic program, but it seems pretty crazy that the new firmware and kernel needs such a thorough wipe of the card when everything before it worked without any hassle.

Edit: Tried reformatting with the specified program and settings. Re-copied over all my stuff. The card crashed upon trying to load the menu. Apparently English.ini is having trouble being loaded.

Edit 2: I just did a chkdsk in the command prompt, no errors found.

Full format is not required when you update in v101. In your case i have not such idea why you are experiencing those problems.
So a full format will eliminate the microSD part problem.

Well, it's still crashing all over the place. Second attempt, hit a black screen before anything would load. Third attempt, got all the way into DQ9 and managed to load my game. Fourth attempt, tried it with a cheat, the system froze as it was loading the ROM. Currently trying to get back into the game menu to see if it'll even load with a cheat active.

Edit: Several attempts later, got into the game menu, DQ9 fully loaded and...black screen.

If in settings window your ez5i got v101 firmware, i don't understand why this happen now.
Only thing i can think is something went wrong when you updated your ez5i in v101 firmware.

What kind of microsd do you use ?
