Even with the compilation of links thread things got a bit messy so this was made, if people feel strongly about it returning to how it was then speak up and we shall see what happens.
The information will remain in the compilation thread and we request you take technical discussion to their respective threads, this thread will be left open but any posts made in it that are not strictly relevant will be moved after their matters are dealt with.
The EZ5 and the associated hardware and software makes it a complex device, the EZteam have released a fair amount of data on it all and others have built tools around it or built things for the EZ5 with it. This thread is to link up the various things that have happened with a short explanation.
EZ5 DLDI: There is an SD driver and an SDHC driver for the EZ5 (SDHC only working with the EZ5 plus and EZ5i models). The thread in which is was refined and improved is located here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=12939
3 in 1 source code (including secondary hardware revision and 3 in 1 plus source code). The 3 in 1 or to give it the full name the EZV 3 in 1 expansion pack is a GBA slot device supported by the EZ5 and many other carts and homebrew programs which use it for running GBA code, extra ram support, rumble as well as data storage (there is a rom dumper from Rudolph using it). The source thread is found here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13482
Earlier kernels (and the hardware versions that supported it which is everything before the EZ5 plus- if you can use SDHC in your EZ5 you can not use these kernels) used a xml format list of games and their save types while adapting the hardware (FPGA) to physically make it the same as the save type used by the game itself. This ensured exceptionally high compatibility (even today if a "modern" cart or kernel fails the savelist kernels will often still work despite being over a year, even two, out of date) and the use of very small saves at the cost of having to find the save type for each and every game (it is not readable in any simple manner from the rom image). Quite a few users did not like this arrangement though so it was dropped in favour of a more conventional set 512 kilobyte save size and patch every game and update patching as an when it becomes necessary. Still a tool was made to convert ADVANsCEne dat files into the XML format required by the EZ5 kernels that can use it. Kernel 1.70 was the last version that used the kernel: http://www.ezflash.cn/zip/ez5kernel080202.zip
Soft reset for moonshell 2.0: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=14961 The EZTeam released some source code to moonlight who made a soft reset patch to allow the EZ5 to use soft reset inside the moonshell app.
The EZTeam used a custom format somewhat similar to the GBA style cht files initially, today they support common formats and have an entry over at http://cheats.gbatemp.net/ but for those wanting to dig deeper that is the link for you.
EZ5 skins We have a skins thread but discussion can get quite technical so it is included here.
1.63 ini generator: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10937 In kernel 1.63 there was an ini file used for customising skins, this thread deals with it all.
EZ5 Skin forger viewtopic.php?f=16&t=14999 This thread is the discussion topic and links to the so called skin forger tool for EZ5 skins (aimed at the 2.0 kernels).
EZ5 skin time machine viewtopic.php?f=16&t=15097 The skin format has changed over the course of the EZ5 development and this tool aims to make it so you can use the skins for older kernels in the 2.0 kernel line.

It would be nice, and also extremely helpful, if the source code for the EZ Flash 3in1+ was released to the AKAIO/Wood teams so they could fully support the device. I, myself, have an EZ Flash Vi and this means very little to me, BUT their are quite a few owners of R4/Acekard flash cards who could benefit from the EZ Flash 3in1+ source code release. I see this as only beneficial at this point in the DS life span. Please consider the release Windirt.....thank you.

Go here Mbmax http://gbatemp.net/topic/318550-3in1-integration-with-acekard/ post 5 from Another World Quote from Another World "there have been no updates to fix the issues with the 3in1+. everyone should email ez flash and request of them to release the updated sources so that akaio can make use of it. from what i recall, the code being used was hacked by a few people so it works, but it doesn't work perfectly."
