The EZTeam have released RC4 of the 2.00 line for the EZ5 (all versions), for those just coming to the EZFlash range the EZ5 has been seeing a complete rewrite of the code for the 2.0 line and versions released throughout this rewrite as features return. This release sees the return of savestates, loader level support for the EZ 3 in 1 and the in game text reader. The text reader format (WLK) has been shifted to a windows tool rather than using the DS side.
Release notes 3 in 1 support added back in- single GBA rom mode*, rumble and opera RAM Real time guide/ingame text reader returns- WLK files are not made using the kernel but a windows tool. real time save/instant save/savestates return
As usual extra features are activated on a game by game basis and you need to have soft reset activated to use it, L+R+A+B is the key combination of choice.
*single rom mode means only a single rom on the NOR memory (the 1.9 line saw the ability to add multiple roms to the NOR), it also means pokemon games can be flashed again. Some explanation, pokemon uses large saves and to make multiple roms work with a limited amount of savespace the EZTeam reserved 512K of ram which meant pokemon would not have enough save space to work. This is now not a problem.

homebrews are working except for animanatee and flickbook still not working(white screen, black screen), but nice update overall, RTS is now working and all games I've tested so far are working and loading is fast but soft reset takes about 10 seconds and realtime loading is a hit or miss(sometimes loads fine, sometimes loads but freezes, sometimes loads but no music only sound effect but after a while the music will start to play just fine), cheats are working too
Kernel 2.0 RC4 is tested using DSi fw:1.3u + EZ Flash Vi with core loader v9, 4GB Sandisk class 6
EDIT: just a follow up on soft reset, I just found out that soft reset works right away by pressing the "A" button a second time after selecting reset on the menu(L+R+A+B)

hi.
I've been testing the new kernel for the last 2 versions (RC3 and now RC4) and i found out a problem relative to cheat codes. I don't know if it has been discussed before as i didn't find infos about it :
On certain games (Final Fantasy IV us or Castlevania, order of eclesia) with many cheats, only a certain amount of them is displayed. The others are not accessibles. Are you aware of this, or is there a solution ?

Bye
I don't get any cheat window to show up at all, Ive had to reinstall an earlier version of the firmware to make the EZ5 Plus work again. Oh yeah may I ask why we never have any instructions as to use these updates?

Yeah, first i tried, it didn't worked. What i did is to delete all ez directories on the cart (only keeping roms and saves directories) and put the new files & folders. It started fine. Just after, i used the hamer icon to change to english language.
To make cheat selection appear, i used the orange icon with 2 arrows, activated soft reset and cheats and pushed the Y button.
(Don't forget to put the usrcheat.dat file in the ez5shell directory)

@ lala - you are a god. Did exactly as you said - it works now I will point out that CHT codes don't work. Use the ezarcodes from gbatemp's cheat database and rename it usrcheat then put it, like the man said, in the ez5shell.

Yay, thanks a lot for this new kernel Everything seems to work great, cheats also. But I have noticed that there is some problems with cheats that using in-game button combinations, like the cheats for CTW as an example.

I was downloading the update when I posted up top.
Everything seems to work well.

I only dont like the default skin, is there an other skin available for this version
If you goto the Tool/Orange button there should be a Skin option. In the RC4 there is the default one and a Transformer one. It looks nice but I don't know how to access other things..but it does look nice. So you could change to that if you wanted.
As for codes, most seem to work (for all the games I have)...while some don't (a few for Mario Cart still don't work under the RC; ie: Always Have [weapon] code).
All in all, I like the update.

hi again.
With previous links i found this :
Quote:
cheat function is still very buggy i think C, DC codetype is not supported it only supports the basic code type such as 0 1 and 2 code type
What are C, DC codetype ? and 0, 1, 2 ? I first thoug it may be why some codes don't appears, but by rethinking of it, backlight code appears in some games but not in others that should have it (unless i'm wrong, not sure about it)
