Thanks windirt.

"A" key to quit, that's coooool. 8)
But why "A" instead of "B" ? start a game in user setting window will not be available if you use "A" key ?

Will give a try to this when i'm at home ...

--------------------------------------------

First impression :
- Red close button has just worked a few times. Very, very strange bug ... :(
- how much faster is the walkthrough generator ? Not sure it's faster than in last ob.

--------------------------------------------

Bug report :
1GB kingston Taïwan (samsung oem) MicroSD formated in FAT16 and just added /moonshl and ez5sys.bin. No ROMINI and RTSSAVE directory on it. Just to see if the ez5 creates them when it need them.

NDS part :
1. when i'm in "user setting" window, i select SR + cheat + ARDS and touch "setcheat option". Cheat window open. I select some cheat codes and close the window with red button (it has worked just a few times, then i have used A key) and i touch save button, the ez5 freeze.

2. "X" and "Y" keys are always available when we are in "user setting" window. A little dangerous to my opinion.

3. How can i launch a game when i'm in user setting window. "A" key close the window (please use B key instead) and start or select key has no effect !

NDS TEST STOPPED BECAUSE OF POINT 3. :?

GBA part :

single rom mode :
A1. in PSRAM mode, save engine write incorrect size in my save. I must run checkdisk to correct that. already reported in 1.8X ob5 thread

A2. when i choose Nflash and than "Cancel" on touch screen, it's not possible to choose again the mode (Nflash or PSRAM). If i cancel with B key, i can choose. already reported in 1.8X ob5 thread

multi rom mode :
B1. Black block bug is still here when i flash 3 games in NOR (MK, SMA3, BomberMan Tournament). already reported in 1.8X ob5 thread

Image

GBA TEST STOPPED : save write process is not stable
Mainly chkdsk found me incorrect size file errors (saves). :?

Not sure what bug has been fixed for the GBA part, but i can find all the one i have mentioned in 1.8x ob5 thread ...

Can u create a feature that saves the DS settings? like the date, time, nickname, birthday, that stuff.
Cause everytime i take out the battery and put another one in, i have to reset options... =(

That is a rather specific request there and somewhat outside the remit of a flash cart.
Perhaps something like this could be of some use:

On that regard, when you take the battery out you don't really lose (per se) most settings, just the date/time - what actually happens is a flag is set and the settings are considered invalid so it prompts for them. Figuring out what flag that is and unsetting it (while tossing a valid value into the clock) would probably be more effective, or simply re-validation or import of the previous profile after you quick set it even when you do re-set it after a battery pull your old settings still aren't lost, they are put into a "less recent" profile as there is room for 2 to try avoid corruption by too frequently rewriting the same area.)

I'd look at it, it should be really quite simple to do (backup nvm and see what changes on a battery pull) I just don't have any toolchains installed ATM and it's easily going to be another week before I've got the old HDD consolidated and am able to attempt to code anything else.

btw: nothing lost, new X3 phenom 8450, a new 500G and a new 320G FTW; so long as I don't miss too much trying to get my old base back in shape under 64 bit :)

... Horrible update.

I wonder what the hell EZTEAM is up to.
Mbmax is trying his best reporting bugs since ages and some of them, or most of them, are just being ignored.

Might consider to switch flashcart.

I also still have this issue, and it still means I cannot run GBA games in single rom mode. As soon as it tries to write back the corrupted save data, the EZ-V hangs. The only way I can play without crashing the EZ-V is to run them in multirom, which means no 32MB games. Going way back to 1.86 or using GBAExpLoader are the only way I can play those games.

it's still test version, please use the stable 1.86a and every thing will be fine.

we have the update schedule, fixed things one by one instead a long time wait release one version.

Hi windirt.
Could you please release a quick fix for the key "A" issue so i can continue NDS test ?
Use the "B" key instead. ;)

At this time i'm not able to launch games in "user setting" window like i have reported ... :?

PLEASE take B button instead of A.

really don't catch the trick here... It should have been obvious to you for using B...

Eek. EZ-V just corrupted my entire microSD. I just got done adding in-game guide to 0820 - Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney - Justice For All (U), and then touched the [SAVE] button. EZ-V just hung, but I left it for a few minutes just in case it was working on writing the settings. Eventually I gave up and switched it off; tried to boot again and got stuck at the "EZ-Flash V" bootup logo. I connected it to my PC and the microSD wasn't recognised, it asked if I wanted to format. I was able to back up my saves and such using TestDisk, and I've formatted the microSD using Panasonic's tool. I'll try the same thing with the same game and same walkthrough to see if it will happen again.

EDIT: Repeated the same process just now with no problems ... interesting.

@Vague_Rant : I haven't seen this problem for the NDS part.
Before testing this part i always checkdisk my microSD because i know the GBA part corrupt FAT system with incorrect size.
If you have done this step before testing NDS part then you can say there is a problem with the walktrought write process. if not, then you are unsure ...

I will give a try to that today with big txt file to see if the improvement annouced by windirt is more evident with huge txt files ...
Also i will check my microSD to see if i have the same problem than you. ;)

Give us some example (game name and cheat to select) so we can test too.
Also, what database do you use ? ARDS or CHT ? and gbatemp cheat code ?
usrcheat.dat or ezarcode.dat ?
