Hrmm, quite right. For some reason I never updated to it, but thought I had. Must have gotten mixed up in the shuffle when I was fiddling with the OS NOR. It skinned just fine for me.

Thought i might mention (although it isn't a bother to me) i think i remember hearing that gbs skin save preview was made to work, but when i've tried it, it produces a mostly blank image with a few words on it.

Also is it intentional that nds skin preview saving produces the preview with a useless brownish background behind it. that is i have to trim it to get the skin preview by itself.

NB: also the gba preview background is the same colour

I'm running Vista, and I'm running into the same problems as previous posters with Vista. Sucks this isn't compatible with Vista, but I thought I'd just offer a little tidbit I came across. When I run it, gives me that problem, then some compatibility window pops up asking me if I want to search online for soution, and there's a little detail drop down, I took a peak at this, and saw that the MSVBVM50.DLL file is not present in Vista. Also did a little more digging on what this file is, and it is a Visual Basic 5 .dll. Apparently, I just downloaded Visual C# and while doing that came across something about how MS dropped VB5 for VB6 or something of that sort. Thought I'd just say this if it helps any :)

When i was testing out some skins in gba mode, i noticed that the the filemng.bmp appears to be raised by one row of pixels and in place of them is one row of the desktop.bmp.

Is this a known bug in the loader?

I had the same problem and thebluestylus' post gave me an idea. I downloaded
http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... vbvm50.exe
and extracted its contents (using winrar) to the same folder as EZSkinner.

Problem solved! :D

I tried that and all the other fix attempts and it was a no go. Except I was able to get EZSkinner working on Vista in "Safe Mode." It seems to be the catch. Wow this thread is old but anyway I bought a GBM on Craigslist and the EZIV so I wanted a new skin so that's why I'm here.

I made a rar of my EZSkinner directory, just in case some of the changes/add ons I made to the directory made a difference. Extract to desktop, reboot, press the F6 button before windows boots up and run in safe mode. Try it for yourself (with Vista) ;)

BTW the EZ4Kernel (ezfla_up.bin) file in the EZSkinner folder is already patched with the Mario_Skin_II_Customize_by_arielp. So if that is the skin your looking for then just put the ezfla_up.bin on ur SD, boot up, hold R and update. Hope this helps.

A better way is to simply install the VB5 Runtime! no copying for any VB5 dependant programs, lol!

Oh yeah, and edit the properties to always run as Administrator if you want saving previews to work.

Hope this Helps! :D
