XML2romlistds v1.3 by cracker

Extract the contents of the archive to the EZ4 directory and run the batch file to generate the up to date list.

PS: I finally came up with the idea of this program after getting pissed off having to add new games manually and I'm surprised it hadn't been done a while ago. :shock:

Thanks cracker, this is going to make client packs about 10 times easier (if I get really bored I may even add in some form of autoupdating).

You are a little lucky, because I've just finished my first version of a romlist generator today... :mrgreen:

Nevertheless you can download the result of my work at :

Just some explanations :
- It's a java program. So you need a java runtime on you computer
- I work and test in Java 1.6. I think it works in Java 1.5 but not in previous jvm...
- Sources are inside the jar for the people who are curious (but the code it's really "stupid") or want to improve my work (?)
- The romlist is sorted by romID and the demo roms are before (and sorted by alphanum)
- It's possible to add comments to a rom or to change its "color" (just to look like previous romlist.txt) by filling a rompatch.props

EZ Client sais with all rom that they are not in the database

romlist updated with by this system

Is there any error message? Currently it should produce a romlistds.txt that is 311K so also make sure that it is the correct size which could elude to the file being locked and not getting updated.

i sighed to myself at having to add yet another stupid rom in by myself ever since people stopped doing it for me. now i get my robot slave to work even harder

I wonder if something similar could be done to build the ezsave.lst used for the ez5 clean mode on old kernel 1.41 ?
Something like XML2ezsave v1.0 by cracker ...

The problem seems to be the source file : inside the ADVANsCEne_NDS.xml you haven't got the information about the short name of the ROM (for example ELE PLANKTON for Electro Plankton) and the Serial. And for my part, I didn't see a zipfile to download at the Advanscene site that contains this damn shortname. You can only see it in the HTML details of the ROM...
Of course, it could be possible download each HTML details of the ROMs at Advanscene and parse them (it's something like : http: //www.advanscene.com/html/Releases/dbrelds.php?id=xxxx to have a rom xxxx detail) ...

No I didn't forget your request !

Because I notice something quite strange with the RToolDS on the Advanscence Site : it's possible inside to see internal rom name and so on ...
So i search a little inside the files of the exe, and found a "magic" url :

Inside you've got an XML with everything we want !
