I found a way to backup and use gamesaves from original DS games on the EZIV. I'm sure it would work on other carts as well but it requires using a GBA movie player to retrieve the save.

First the GBAMP must be flashed with chism's hacked firmware found here->http://www.geocities.com/chishm1/gbamp/

Next I put this bootloader on the GBAMP to load ds homebrew ->http://mightymax.org/gbamp_multiboot.html

With this tool called rain loaded by the aforementioned bootloader, you can backup the DS gamesave and copy it to your flashcart to be used there ->http://www.pat.hi-ho.ne.jp/~sata68/nds/
The save has to be named the same as the save created by the flashcart. I simply played a game to get a save written and then renamed my retrieved save the same as that.

The problem is it will only write the save to a compact flash or secure digital card. That is why I had to use the GBAMP method. It acted like it was going to work in my EZIV but never wrote the save for me. It did however, work flawlessly in the GBAMP!

This is to back up a save for a legit cart in the back of your Passme ?

Interesting idea, I'm sure it beats the hell out of paying Datel for their "Action Replay" so called cheat device. The GBAMP is quite cheap to buy.

I have no GBAMP (and I am sure I am not the only one) so everyone else should be able to use ETool tools from: http://nds.cmamod.com/download.html

At first I was wondering what the passme had to do with it lol. I have my DS flashed so I didn't need the passme but yeah. If your's is not flashed you have to have the passme in the DS and the game in the passme. I finally found a use for my GBAMP. This hacked firmware and bootloader allow you to run almost all homebrew on the DS using the GBAMP.

SATA's rain and ETools wont work if passme is in. You have to take it out before dumping the save memory of the DS cart.

Luney sorry to go OT a bit but I know a guy with an EZF4 and none of his GBA games save for him, is there something he should do besides create the saver folder on the SD card?

The EZTeam mentioned on the Chinese forums (and possible the English ones as well) that you have to create your own Saver folder. So it sounds like if you don't have one then saving fails...

Right Click===>Create New Folder and name it Saver you mean? Unless its something more complicated thats exactly what he did. Ah it doesnt matter, Ive told him to try something besides pokemon(no clock in the EZF4) and he hasnt replied, dont worry about it.

Yeh, thats it. If that doesn't work, sorry dude, I can't help you. I don't have one to play around with. Jandaman updated his store, but he doesn't have the EZ4 listed yet.

If it is Pokemon (Ugh!) then it could be because of the lack of RTC.

If people are that desperate for pokemon then: http://bubbz.pocketheaven.com/?system=gba&section=patch should be able to patch them also GBATA has some options for it is well if I recall http://www.gbadat.altervista.org/gbata.htm

It is just that pokemon was the first and as far as I know last series to even use RTC on the GBA so it makes sense to drop it (PCB space and power consumption).

No, you boot the DS, then take the passme out and stick the DS game directly in the slot. I actually went out of my way to try and see if this would damage the save/cart/DS at all and I was not able to (even while writing or reading the FLASH in my 2mbit cart)

Usually if the DS game is removed after booting, the DS freezes. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me as mine is flashed.
