hi,
I need a little help converting my *.gb Roms with Goomba and the EZ-Client.
I used Goomba to make a lsdj.gba of the lsdj.gb Rom and second to make the Rom usable with EZ-Client and it seems to work.
But i have more Roms and you can convert multiple *.gb (and *.gbc) Roms (LSDJ, Zelda, etc...) to one *.gba Rom. But somehow I can't find a correct Rom after using the EZ-Client. There is only a ".gba" file. (guess it only starts lsdj, but not so sure with that). Should it be possible to do it the way i did it? Or do i need to make a *.gba file for each *.gb rom using goomba? Could there be problems with saving?
And I dont get that with the automatic renaming the EZ-Client does - do the roms need to be in a compatibility/converting list of the Client to get other roms than ".gba" ?????
You do not need to use EZ4client with kuwanger's tweaked versions (just make a file and make a save with the same name). Still the rename thing is a function of the client (or more accurately the rom list). Should it encounter a rom it does not know then it has troubles or will try a blank name (or I think I might have bugged the last version I did and the one that is in the pack you probably have and it now uses a homebrew name) but I also added a couple of homebrew programs to the list (some would not work but that is a different story). I will spare you an issues with the GBA naming list discussion though (it works with the name in the header unlike the DS part which works with the CRC32 value) as provided you are not adding a bunch of roms at once you can change the name in the top left corner or the program.
I will however say little sound DJ is an interesting thing to emulate- despite the level of emulation available there is a reason most GB/GBC flash cards made these days are aimed at LSDJ (it actually makes it a bit troublesome as most do not see fit to include multiple SRAM slots for multiple save games). It should work but it might not be flawless.
