I also forgot, are you guys running gzip compression with phpBB? gzip compression will save you a lot of bandwidth.

GZIP is off. I've toyed with turning it on, however it uses more resources. Given that the site is on a shared host, I didn't want to turn it on just in case the site started using more resources than it should be.

If Sosuke sees the thread he should respond. Otherwise, PM him and see what he says. He might be happy where he is.

I don't have anything to do with the hosting side of things, I just admin the forums.

Hahaha ! LOL - I just realised it was those Text ads, Google thingies, I actually thought they were getting like an image banner on the top or something.

Those ads are really unobtrusive, I didn't even really notice them.

The site was going to get a single banner ad for mjzhosting.com which is where this site is hosted. However I believe the terms weren't quite as favourable as Sosuke would have liked them and opted for the google adsense ads instead.

This is the part where it gets interesting. Google keeps the click through data quite private. So it's quite difficult to determine exactly how long you've got before they're going to send you any money. Sosuke was telling me that they don't send any money out until the balance of the account hits $100. Thats the first cheque (check for you crazy Americans) that they'll send out.

I can say that the site is increasing in visitors and I am able to see with quite a decent amount of accuracy where the concentration of people are visiting from and which sites are referring them on.

Approximately 1/3 of the traffic is independant. People visiting from a blank browser window.
1/3 again come from http://www.ezflash.cn
And the rest is split over several website. Some in china one or two in spain and some in italy.
GBATemp makes up a decent portion as well.

As for the ads, click it ... Or else

It seems the ads broke the skin function in profiles. Is there anyway you guys can fix it. I liked the subsilver skin but now all of them are the default one.
